Sony Xperia X Fingerprint Scanner

It's not repsonding and it's driving me bonkers!

Have done multiple resets, a reset using the companion suite, safe mode, developer mode and still no success. Sony said it needs to be sent away for repair but I have no idea how much this will cost and if it's worth it? EE have said it's worth maximum £25.00 on a trade in.

Any fix suggestions or assistance will be appreciated!

@JordanC

You have really put a lot of effort in it.

Let's go through it again.

You did several factory resets and still no response from the fingerprint scanner.

I suppose you cannot even scan a new fingerprint?

There are three things you didn't mention in your post.

- Clean the fingerprint sensor

- Clear cache and data goto settings->apps & notifications-> tap 3 dots in the upper right corner -> show system- scroll to Fingerprints ASM -> tap Storage -> clean cache & clean data

- dial *#*#SERVICE#*#* -> tap on service tests -> scroll down -> tap on Fingerprint Test, you should see the picture below on your screen

If these actions do not give you the desired result then you're really out of luck.

If your device is within warranty you can take up contact with support through the support app.

You can chat, mail or phone them.

Refer to your question on the forum.

Sincerely hope you will succeed.

Thanks for the advice. Completed this up until an error message appears in the service menu. Think I've got to accept the scanner is dead!

I'm also suffering from this problem. It's been couple of weeks already. None of the solutions I found on this forum ever worked. And it says in service mode "sensor OK". So annoying! 😡
