I have been holding back on upgrading to Oreo and waiting to see if there were any major problems reported on this forum.
Does anyone have anything positive to say about upgrading? Is it worth going ahead or should I wait for the next update?
Frankly the permanent notification of an available update is irritating me and so I am tempted to upgrade just to get rid of it!
You can get rid of notification by holding on to it, tap more settings, tap on app icon and force stop.
Thanks but it is irritating that I have to do that everytime that I restart the phone
I would just do the upgrade. My guess is that afterwards you will belong to the vast majority of people who did a succesful upgrade. Those are mostly the people that you won't find on forums like this.
I think it's possible to block notifications from updates by long holding the notification then select block notifications. This will be permanent option.
Im using oreo version 34.4.A.2.19
I like the update and I especially noticed an improvement in online gaming but recently got my new usb otg adapter, and was unable to use it, 4 some reason my Xperia x compact doesn't recognise any USB device.
Had minor issues with keyboard, like typos and overlapping keys but other than that it's a good update
Go @Windibank , go!
Make a backup first and load your battery to say 80% as a minimum.
Con: Newly installed apps won't have an automatic shortcut on the home screen.
Pro: you will have regular security updates and new menus in settings.
In any case, it is not updated to Oreo! You have no idea what problems you're going to have after the upgrade. Just trust me! Read my posts here on the forum.
