I just purchased a Sony Xperia X, immediately upgraded it to 7.1.1 and now have issues with Bluetooth not working with my car. The phone connects and then after a minute or so it disconnects, then connects again and this keeps doing this over and over again. I did some research and seem like lots of devices, Sony and others, on Android 7.1.1 have this issue. I contacted Sony support and they asked to run the repair utility. That wipes the phone so I am reluctant to do that, additionally I think it probably is not going to fix this. Does any one else has similar issue, how did you resolve it? Should I downgrade to 7.0 ?
Don't bother downgrading to 7.0.0. The Bluetooth issues started with this release. I have the Xperia Z5 and I have lost audio control when connecting to my car Bluetooth (Audi MMI). I just received the 7.1.1 update now. Almost a year with an overpriced Nokia 3310. Aparently 7.1.2 resolves this issue.Sony's response has been pathetic to say the least. Frustrations like this makes me want to not get a Sony again.
Thanks for the info. For the time being I've worked around this by disabling "Media Audio" setting on the paired device configuration on my phone. I've also set "Not Optimized" setting under battery for the following based on another web site's recommendation:
- Blocked Numbers Storage
- Bluetooth MIDI Service
- Bluetooth Share
- Phone
- Music
Some of the above might not be needed but I've left them and it works for making and receiving calls.
I have exactly the same problem, this is so speechless .....again!
Please is there someone able to help us?
Maybe someone discover how to fix it, maybe...
Thanks in advance.
Are you on Nougat or on Oreo? (7.1 or 8.0)

7.1.1. Oreo is not available for the Xperia Z5.
