Android 7. No Cyrillic alphabet on the dialer buttons.

Hi all

I bought my Sony X Compact in Ukraine and on the android 6 I had cyrillic alphabet on the buttons in the dialer. After updating to the android 7 the dialer lost theese characters. Aslo the search doesn't work for cyrillic contacts. It's disgusting and I'm not able to use my phone of full value. How to enable cyrillic in the sony's dialer? By the way I tried factory reset and it didn't help. Is it a problem with the firmware?

Even if you set Russian as your primary language?

Are you using the standard phone app or another.

I use app Sony Phone v10.0 by Sony Mobile Communications.

Today came the update to version 47.2.A.4.41 (Android 9) on Sony Xperia XZ Premium (CDA: 1308-5289 - Customized DE)

I updated app Sony Phone by Sony Mobile Communications to version 19.0 is an evolutionary marvel. It now shows bilingual alphabet.

Hi @k3142978, thank you for reporting this change and I hope that you will have a better experience with the Phone application now when using Russian as system language in your device!

Regarding your Xperia Z2, it works fine there because the change only applies to device with Android 7.0 or later and the Xperia Z2 has Android 6.0.
