WIRELESS CONECTION PROBLEM WITH NEW VAIO

HI, I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A SONY VAIO VGN-N29 AND CANNOT GET THE WIRELESS LAN TO WORK THE ROUTER IS BELKIN AND IS WORKING FINE,I CAN GET A WIRED CONNECTION NO PROBLEM BUT NO WIRELESS CONNECTION, THE WIRELESS SWITCH ON THE SIDE IS ON, NUT THERE IS NO LAN SYMBOL/BOX IN THE RIGHT HAND CORNER WITH THE OTHER TOOLS? PLS HELP ASAP WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? BY THE WAY HAVE TRIED TO UPDATE LAN STILL NOT WORKING!!!THANKS

Welcome to the club,
don't panic. Firstly go into the device manager by right clicking my computer>properties>device manager and in the tree for network adapters. If there is an exclamation mark then right click and update the driver and it should find the downloaded driver. If not try disabling and enabling the adapter that worked for me when it did the same thing.
