Windows Vista

Dear all,

I would like to propose you a new big Topic for this forum.

What do you sincerely think about Windows Vista?

What are its strongest good points?

In which aspects it fails completely?

According to your experience I wait for your suggestion.

Bye!

Simon

I'm angry that Photoshop Elements 5 was pre-installed & when I try to open a picture in it, it says "not compatable with Vista"

Hi

Adobe has a patch to fix this problem. You should be able to download it if you run photoshop again and when you get the incompatibility message you should be able to click the visit Adobe.com for the update patch from there.

Thanks. I've looked into it & you have to buy the update.

I've remembered something else. :slight_frown:

Last June I bought a Canon PowerShot S3IS which I love. It comes with ArcSoft photo editing software which I'd not used before but it's brilliant.

Not compatible with Vista.

There appears to be a Important Patch for Windows Vista Users, not sure if it's for your application though, see more here..

Thanks for that. I've downloaded it & it's working fine.

But this perfectly illustrates why Vista is so infuriating. I shouldn't have to go to all this trouble to edit my photos. So many things aren't compatible & I should think manufacturers of other programs are furious that their customers have to go through this rigmarole each time.

 Glad that the link helped..

Hopefully once you have solved the Vista problems, you will enjoy using your Vaio more..

Buy the update? Are you sure? It should be a simple download following the link provided on the error page.

Edited to add: You can get the patch by clicking (here) (Click Download The Free Update)

When I clicked on the error message it didn't link me to anywhere.

When I looked on the Photoshop site - I just saw the $$$$$ signs!! Found the upgrade now.

Thanks for your help.

I hate window's vista with a PASSION. I hated it since day one. I had a Beta version of it last September. It irritated me then and it irritates me now, lol. The fact that my Vaio came with it made me sad, but changing of the times I guess. Doesn't change my feelings though...VISTA IS CRAP! As a semi intelligent person I feel I had a lot more control over my computer with XP, but that's just me.

Hi radiodead1974,

Did you upgrade to Vista or did your Vaio have Vista pre-installed..

I guess it was an upgrade, if so, Sony are working on a full installer of WinDVD BD for Vista, hopefully it will be available soon..
