Why to read this forum?

Hi,
I can not beleive I could not get an answer on my simple question!!!
Is there anyone from SONY who reads those posts?
I want to replace my DVD/CD-RW with a proper DVD-RW/CD-RW on my VAIO (PCG-GRV 516G) and I asked which one should I buy..no answer at all. What is a point of such a poor organized forum, anyway..you can not even search through the posts!!!!!.

Ah. No this is not an official Sony forum, Sony tech support do not read these posts or help out here. It's possible they don't even know it exists. At any rate, wait and see if anyone knows the answer and if nobody replies take that as a no and phone Sony. Numbers are at www.vaio-link.com.

Sony themselves don't support on this forum, you need to go through the official channels - VAIO Link.

I find it quite rude of you to critisise our group like this, we help thousands of people here and everyone pitches in and helps. There's a sense of community.

these forums do seem pretty official so i can see why he expected some 'official' advice not that our advice isnt good enough.. :smileyblush:

anyway we need a search function, and sticky posts, and basically..updated forum software its so outdated here!

I must admit - being a new user - I thought this was a official Sony site. Seeing as my VGN-A197VP came with this as the default homepage it would kind of suggest that it was a Sony site!

The site itself is a Sony official site, all the parts apart from this forum are done by Sony. It's just us here that are gatecrashing.
