What is UPnP framework?

When I turn on my new Vaio Z1-XMP, I get the following message:

"Sony UPnP Framework has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

What does this mean, and is there something I need to do about it.?

I would really appreciate some advice on this.
