VGN-A115B --- TOUCHPAD IS DEAD!!

Yesterday I bought mi new VAIO VGN-A115B. Navigating through the installed Windows XP without any problems, and trying to get used to the new notebook-keyboard, my touchpad-mouse suddenly stopped working. I can´t move the pointer or use the buttons, nothing happens. I can´t believe that it´s broken already in the first day...so I suppose I pressed something on the keyboard by mistake that blocked or disabled the touchpad. I tried everything, restarting the notebook, enabling and disabling the Touchpad from Sony Notebook Setup Application, upgrading the BIOS, reinstalling Windows XP from the recover CD, etc...under Mouse in Control Panel there is no mouse listed, but in the Device Manager are 2 HID Devices from SONY listed! I also don´t have any icon on my taskbar related to the touchpad mouse. Does anybody know of an key combination that does this? And if yes...how to reactivate the touchpad? Thank you, every suggestion will be appreciated

I would be tempted to take it back to the retailer.

Yea take it back and get a new one. You will still be under your 28 day return policy as it has a fault.
