Vaio S3VP batteries

Hello,

I have just bought Vaio as in topic - S3VP.
Very nice machine, extremely fast, great screen and so on...

There is one thing, however which worries me a bit.
According to specification this machine should work
up to 5 hours on batteries.

Mine work no more than 2h 15min.
I tested battery life just setting screen brightness to 4,
sound volume to 1 or 0 and started Sony screen saver.

As this is very new machine - about 5 days old maybe
it needs some special battery charge cycles before it gets
full capacity?

Any ideas? Or should I just call service to replace my batteries?

Hi

The machine will only last 5hrs on extreme minimum battery use, that means low screen brightness, no screensavers, no extra hardware and low CPU usage.

Hm, thats surpsising a bit, I heard that S series can allow web browsing
for 4 - 5 hours using wireless internet connection.
It is not a heavy CPU use but anyway it consumes power a bit, I doubt it takes
less then just sony screen saver with all other HW turned off, like DVD, WiFi, Bluetooth. I switched brightness to very low as well.

Whats the point of telling people that batteries can last for 5 hours if you can
not do anything during the time?
