Hi all,
I recently purchased a VAIO VGN-A195HP and it seems working fine but for a problem with one of the USB ports (the one on left-hand side of the machine; I believe all A-series have it in the same place). The port seems to be powered (i.e. it would power up a USB mouse receiever) but would not recognize any USB devices plugged in. The two USB ports on the back work fine and do recognize such devices. I tried to uninstall and install USB hubs and controllers in Safe Mode to change their IRQ, but nothing worked. Any ideas what it is? Is the port somehow physically defective or can I do something software-wise? BTW, the port did work a couple of time in the beginning but then went 'dead'. I'd appreciate any advice.
Alex
Sounds like it has died.
If the others are working and this not then that would mean something has happened to it.
Speak to Sony, see what they can do for it.
