i rang up the insurance company, and was told that someone would ring me back in the next 24 hours. well 29 hours later i get a call. i was asked to say how it happend, so i did. i was then asked to tell then again how it happend. then i was asked what else was on the book case and where i keep and use the laptop. i was asked what i use it for (ie. surfing ect ect).
i felt like i was being tested and the way they made me wait on the line why they did somethink. i had a feeling i was under investergation. but after all that i was told that all was ok and i should get a phone call within 2 hour from there repairers (The Source) which i did and they are picking up the laptop on friday.
thank god thats over. just want my new 4 week old laptop fixed.

Spider,
Glad they're sorting it for you, hope your preiums don't go sky high.
Thanks for your update. Spider, you are one unfortunate guy. Insurance companies have always made me feel like a criminal as well - I had to send in a HP notebook after coke spilt inside the keyboard (instant deat - it was on at the time!)
I can sympathise with you, and I would hate anything like this to happen to my VAIO - as would most I'm sure.
:smileypraying:Good luck and I hope your VAIO is returned soon.
My friend spilt Iron Bru into his Toshiba... worked 3 days later so he did a backup swiftly....
And thats not the half of it for me... During work experience, I dropped my dads Toshiba Satellite PC - complete write-off, and it caused a head-crash on the HDD that destroyed 1.2GB of data!
If that wasn't bad enough, the next time I visited, I used another satellite and shut down in Standby mode.I then proceeded to move the PC to the factory floor and it caused another head crash - terminal for many HDD's!
LOL - And guess what - my dad laughed it off! "Ah its OK, CD Drive was knackered any how..."
My god James I'm not letting you near my VAIO LOL...
WOW thats suprising, he never had a go at you?
Glad to here that spider,
You'll have to create a Tomb raider style protection zone for it when it comes back.
Kee-Lo: Nope, not once. It was the firms computer system and it was a pity, but it doesn't come close to a VAIO - LOL oh and don't worry, I am far more careful now. I have done many things like this in the past so I have learned from my experiences.
Don't feel too bad Spider, there is hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel.
Yeah we need to learn from our mistakes...
