Sony Vaio PCG-TR2MP

Hi

I need a new hard disk for my Sony Vaio PCG-TR2MP but i cannot seem to find the correct drive anywhere?

The size is 63mm Wide and 77mm Long.

I do not want to spend £200 on sending it into Sony repair centre just for a hard drive replacement.

Any help would be great.

Hi Gavin and welcome.

The TR series laptop uses a 1.8 inch hard drive sourced from Toshiba rather than the 2.5 inch drives that are common in most laptops. It is in fact the same drive as is fitted to an iPod and up to recently was about 60GB maximum.

I think you can now get larger capacities up to 100GB but watch the interface - you will need a Toshiba compatible one.
