i have new vaio VGN-BX197XP. I have a problem now. I can not turn on my computer, the power button does not work.
I have check battery and cable, but it seems still not working.
Pls help

Hi wonderfulfuture and welcome to Club Vaio.

Does it make any noises at all? Do any of the lights come on, even if only briefly?

It doesn't sound good but there are a few things to try before you contact Sony Support for a way forward: -

1. Check the AC Power Adapter is actually producing power at the connecting plug - I have seen many where the wire has broken.

2. Try to reseat the memory modules to make sure they are securely fitted. Have a look at THIS GUIDE on how to take out and replace the modules.

3. Disconnect from the mains power, remove the battery, hold the power button down for 30 seconds, reconnect the mains power and try to boot (without the battery)

4. If the DVD Drive starts up you can try booting from the Recovery Discs or an XP disc.

If all of these fail, you will have to send your Vaio for repair.
