Just got hold of a nice S2HP at a very good price. Fine machine. I keep getting the message on start up about creating the recovery disks which seems like a good idea. So I look in the book to find out more, which was not a lot other than I might need somewhere between 0 and Infinity CD's to burn to.
I assume someone out there has done this and can narrow the number of CD's I might need down to + 1. The machine came with the standard software bundle so can someone suggest how many CD's I might need.
Cheers and apologies if this has been done to death previously.
Can take 9!
About 22 the last time I checked!
Using a DVD means you will only need 2 disks, so DVD is recommended.
Make 2 copies or more of these disks, because it is a small price to pay if the computer stops functioning.
You could try getting a DVD from Sony, but this is costly at about £50 or 70¿.
BTW This is because Sony are cheap bast*rds and no longer distribute the Recovery DVD disks.
Yeah and make sure to get Sony R DVDs not RW ofr the best possible results.
Yep and use DVD+R for the best results, some drives have issues with the DVD-R disks for some reason.:smileydevil:
Thank you chaps, replied in less time than it took me to register the thing.
I'll get a big bag of discs then.
A thought possibly a dumb one, but could I make a recovery disk on an external hard drive or is that just bonkers.
No, but you COULD possible duplicate the hidden partition is some way.....
Probably with Partition Magic...
