Greetings!
First of all sorry about my english. I'm hungarian.
I bought a VGN-FS215M Vaio two weeks ago and i have some problems with it:
1.) The charger isn't grouded and i have burring sound when i use my microphone. If i disconnect the charger it stops.
2.) I have a "half dead" pixel. It is ok with almost any colours, but with a black background it is white. Is there a guarantee for this? (to replace the display)
3.) The CPU fan never stops. In "normal mode" cpu temp is 48 celsius and the HDD temp is 44 celsius. Cpu voltage: 0.988V Cpu Clock: 798Mhz And the fan don't want to stop!!! It is really annoing. (Bios ver.: R0044J1, EC Bios ver.: RK044J1)
4.) Maybe because of the 3rd problem if i unplug the charger the battery capacity drops down to 80% in 2 mins!!! Than i can work about 1.5 hour. I did the 12 hour charging 3 times. And i still have this problem.
5.) I'm unable update VAIO Zone to 1.4.06. It generates an error every time and the message is italian (i think my Vaio is from Italy) and i can't understand it.
6.) If i enable the nVidia PowerMizer Control and i want to use the balanced or the maximum power savings mode my video card makes errors. (Falshing dots all around) If i set it to max performance it is ok.
Does anyone know a solution for any of these? Thanks!
Hi Damquis,
welcome to Club Vaio...
Was this a new or a pre-owned Vaio, as the FS215M is an older model..
If it's a new Vaio, then it may be best to contact Vaio-support to resolve all of the issues..
If it's a pre-owned Vaio see below..
You can read Sony's pixel policy here , I think for your model the Maximum number stuck pixels is 7
For the fan, have you set your Vaio power options to adaptive. Also the cause of the constant fan noise could be due to a build up of dust, you could try cleaning the vents with a blast of compressed air (you should be able to get this from your local PC shop), holding the can upright give the vents a short blast from a distance of approx. 10cm if you hold the can to close you could damage the fan..
Thanks for the reply.
I am the first owner of my notebook. So i don't think there is too much dust in it. As i red on other forums some other users have this problem too. They mentioned that there is a fan control driver for Vaio but i can't find one for my model. I'm still on this problem and if i find a solution i'll post it here.
I also red Sony's pixel policy so i have to live my dead pixel.
I'll try a full system restore to solve problem 3, 5, 6 in a later time, because now i have to work with my Vaio.
Any other suggestions?
