Problems resizing my screen resolution...

Hi!

I have problems resizing my screen resolution. I am working on a PCG-Z1RMP laptop and my usual resolution is 1400x1050. Sometimes, I have to change the resolution to 1024x768 and then the whole picture shrinks (or in other words: I have a big black gap on the top, bottom, left and right). Must probably something is wrong with my settings...can someone tell me what I have to do in order to keep the size and only change the resolution.

Thx and best regards,

Felix

Felix,

Sometimes there's a tick box to stretch the desktop to fit your screen in display properties within control panel.

Hi Kee-lo,

thx for your answer. I know what you mean...but that is not the box. That only stretches the background picture. The problem is that not only does the background picture shrink...but the whole picutre (e.g. also the taskbar on the bottom) whenever I change it to 1024x768. Any other suggestions?

Thx again and regards,

Felix

I was talking about the one in the settings tab.

OK, I see what you mean. It's the "Extend my Windows Desktop on to this monitor". However this option is "greyish"/"faded" which means I cannot tick it How can I activate it?

Thx again,

Felix

Do you have two screens marked 1 and 2?
