Hi tummus and welcome to Club Vaio.

I am not sure if your particular model is one of the affected batch, but many GRX-Series Vaios did suffer from a SODIMM memory slot problem where the soldered joints were faulty causing a "No Boot" situation.

Have a look at this long thread: -

http://hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/5449/

What memory modules do you have installed? Try moving the module to the other (back) slot and see if this helps. If you have two 256MB modulesinstalled, try with just one module and try it in both slots. Also applying a little pressure to the modules during boot may help.

If these help for a temporary boot, you may need to get the connections re-soldered. If this is the cause, it has taken a long time to show itself.

EDIT: Here are the instructions to get at your memoty modules: -

This was the biggest disapointtment about the GRX316MP.
