I've bought three months ago a Vaio PCV-W2 desktop and have some problems with Giga pocket and the possibility of viewing TV and input video.
The input signal sometimes can be viewed sometimes not: at the beginning it seemed a problem of wire connection between the "Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board" and the main board: sometimes this could be seen in the system devices list, sometimes it was not visible.
I've reinstalled the os a pair of times, I've tried to fix and move the encoder board handling it from the outside (if only I could be able to open this pcv box), now the device "Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board" is actually shown in the device manager but I can manage to view anything on Giga Pocket.
An event system seems related to this problem:
"Impossibile trovare la descrizione dell'ID evento ( 0 ) nell'origine ( Sony TV Tuner Controller ). Il computer locale potrebbe non disporre delle necessarie informazioni nel Registro di sistema o dei file DLL necessari per visualizzare messaggi da un computer remoto. Utilizzare /AUXSOURCE= flag per recuperare la descrizione. Per ulteriori informazioni, consultare la Guida in linea e supporto tecnico. Le seguenti informazioni sono parte dell'evento: Service started."
Sorry, is in italian, the overall meaning is: can't find event ID from the origin Sony TV Tuner Controller, local computer could not find info in the system registry or in necessary dll files.
This problem or a quite similar one could be seen also when "Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board" used to disappear from the device list (so it seemed an hardware related problem), now it seems more a software prob.
Whatever the case I'm stuck and this silver box of weighty electonic equipment can't be used for the main reason I've bough it: watch Tv.
