yeah i i have the 1gb installed already but i feel it has to be at the 2gb mark for my apps to be running super smooth

i am running premiere pro 1.5 with rtx 100 which is reccomended that you have 1gb min for it to run proper

and i leave it open now when im using after effects as most of the time im copy/paste into and from premiere

i also have encore 1.5
audition 1.5
so you can understand why i need the ram

also with the rtx 100 it constancly feeds from your system drive using the virtual memory thats why it is reccomended by matrox to keep that drive over 80% free

as ram allows me more virtual memory and just memory on the whole i am able to apply more real time effects
(no rendering) the rtx is meant to beable to handle 16 realtime effects on one clip with the right power behind it and the right combiation of effects

i have so far only managed a lame 5 in realtime which is good but not as good as stated

tellingd i have a power house  lol

nah its just an editing suite thats all it runs smooth though it takes a while to get past the windows loading bit a start up but that is understandable with all the stuff it is booting up

three hard drives
dvd rw drive
forissimo 7.1
parhelia (two monitors streached mode) up to three
rt x 100 which is my fav piece of kit by far it makes premiere life exremely faster no rendering on ANY of the adobe transition or on the matrox tranistion or matrox effects (pan and scan sometimes does)

video effects have to be rendered now thought as the keyframes have made it more techincal and xtreme preview (wysiwyg) (what you see is what you get )
which allows me to veiw my editng while i do it in a full screen totally realtime without no lag like there would be if you have the camcorder feeding to a tv
its amazing

it also allows realtime xport to disk mpeg2 !!!!!!!!!

Ben,

Yeah I would get 4x512MB then as you said it does support 2048MB.
You MIGHT need a BIOS update.
