guys i dont know whether im being too fussy here
ive just purchased a k115m and i reckon its running pretty smoothly with day to day tasks,
im so disapointed with the gfx card tho (9200 mob), i didnt expect to play games with the settings on full but even with everything on lowest settings, things can get a bit choppy..
in particular with Farcry, my desktop which is alot slower plays it alot better,
on my laptop,i have to put every setting on minimal and even then, the game randomly locks up for 10-15 seconds and then eventually unfreezes..this occaisonally happens in other games as well..
whats the deal with that? playing games with low gfx settings im gonna accept but not these annoying lock ups...should i be upgrading to 1gb of ram??
\
anyone else expereinced these lockups?

Far Cry is quite a demanding game, and a lot of notebooks cannot handle the strain.
It's normally best to play it on a graphics card which can handle 128MB.
Your problem is common through out many laptop ranges.
The problem is that laptops have slower bus speeds than your desktop.
Another thing is the graphics chipsets, if you think about the card in your desktop and the size of that card. The card in your desktop has a lot more built in graphic processing power than the one in your laptop.
The mobile graphics chips are essentaly striped down versions of the desktop ones.
Some of the larger laptops such as the HP 17 inch beasts have the Geforce 5600 128Mb cards that score well on the 3D mark but when i tryed to play farcry on it the performance was very poor.
The only laptop that i have had good results playing FarCry on so far is the PCG - GRT916V.
thanks
ill just accept it then, great laptop otherwise,
