NOTHING ON THE SCREEN????

last night turned my laptop of (fx702), turned back on and nothing on the screen, lights come on but nothing on the screen, noises come from inside the laptop at the start, then nothing happens

any ideas?

It sounds like either the inverter or backlight has died. You will need to organise a repair.

This seems to be a very common problem and is the result of a design flaw in the vaio models which have the memory slots under a plate on the bottom of the notebook.

There is plenty of stories available (google vaio boot problem)
