No sound in TV or DVD in Media Centre

I have a comparatively new LA2 with Vista and sound has been working fine. Suddenly I do not appear to have sound when using live/recorded TV or when using DVD. Everything else is fine e.g. CDs, DVD Rom, Windows sounds. I have looked at the audio TV settings in Media Centre, control panel, device manager - sounds, and everything seems to be working OK. I am at a loss to know what has happened and how I can rectify. Can anyone help please?

Hello everyone

Thought I would update this post. The problem has been solved because I have undertaken a full recovery prior to my LA2 being picked up to be looked at, as I had another problem from day one regarding crackling from the harddrive which despite esupport/phone calls has not been solved. I still don't know of course what made the sound go off.
