New laptops on their way?

Hi

I posted in the Want to buy my first VAIO forum as, strangley enough I want to buy my first Vaio (laptop).

Well, I've just got back from WH Smiths with a copy of What Laptop (November '04) and in the News section it states:

Ending the year in style Sony is set to unleash a wave of VAIO laptops.......the next few months will show a Sony deluge

Does anyone know any more about this? I don't want to spend my hard earned dosh and find a better/cheaper model just round the corner.

All I know is that there are going to be new models on the market soon, so I would wait and see...

Keep an eye on the computer magazines and search the net for more recent news. No matter when you buy one there's going to be a newer one just around the corner but it doesn't hurt to check.

Personally I buy the older model just after the newer one comes out. unless of course the newer one has something you want.

The new laptops have a modelnumber in the 2xx range, for instance A215Z.

They all have a 15,4 or 17" screen. Why is that? I prefer a 15" screen because it supports more 'standard' resolutions.

Anyway, I ordered the A115S about one month ago, but they can't deliver it anymore. So I have to wait until the end of the month, when I'll get a A215M (without Bluetooth and with 15,4" screen :smileysad:)

If that wasn't what you wanted, then take a look around at other shops, some are bound to still have some a117s laptops left, and probably at a knockdown price too because of the newer models. When you pay a lot of money don't settle for what you're given if it's not what you want!
