memory upgrade vaio VGN-FS315M

I have just joined the vaio club and I wish to upgrade the memory on my laptop to 1024mb it currently has 512 in one slot does anyone know what exactly type of memory it is I need. I was lead to beleive it is ddr2 so dimm just want to confirm before I buy. Cheers

Hi Skys the limit and welcome to Club Vaio.

Visit Crucial.com and use their system scanner, this will tell you what memory is presently installed and also advise on compatible upgrades for your system.

EDIT: I have just had a look at Crucial and, for some reason, they don’t list your model. However, according to Sony the memory specs for your model are:

• DDR2-SDRAM
• PC2-3200
• 400 Mhz

It would be a 200 pin SODIMM.
