LA1 system restore not working

Hi all,

Can anyone help please. I've had the VAIO desktop LA1 since January 07 and have never been succesful when trying the system restore. Upon restarting after each try a message appears which simply says "Restoration Incomplete. Your system has not been restored. No changes have been made. Click here to start again." No information about why it has failed or anything. I've tried selecting different restore points but the same happens every time.
Any ideas?
