Hey all Vaio lovers.
I want to clear out whether this is just a hear saying or its true.
Should I leave my battery inside the laptop while using external power?
Will it do any harm to my battery/charger?
if so, what harm will be done.. and after how long time will I notice the side-effect it had?
If i should keep it in, or out.. could you provide any sources that can confirm what you say? Like any tests out there?
I have a brand new battery now that has just been used 3-4times at most.
Question why im asking is that I read a topic earlier here on club vaio saying that when the battery is fully charged the laptop uses external power instead (although its saying charging 100% in windows, but thats just a bug in windows). So if that is correct, then the battery will not be harmed if its inside the laptop while the external source.
Also my manual says that this battery will not loose its efficiency if I charge it whether its from 80% or 10%.
Please help me clear this out.
My computer is a Sony Vaio VGN-FE31H
Hi Sam.h
I always remove my battery when running on AC power, the reason being that while monitoring with MobMeter(unfortunately, not compatible with Vista), I noticed that there was still a small charge being drip-fed to the battery when it was showing 100% charged, the implications of which have been debated elsewhere on this forum.
