I cannot open the CD-Tray, not Until Windows start and appropriate app loads to enable opening of the tray.
At boot or in Setup the Eject button does nothing. I must use the pin to open the tray in pre-Windows mode...???
Help!

If it is under warranty then send it back to Sony. You have a malfunctioning eject mechanism.
Actually James it's quite common in the A series.
The CD tray is controlled by the shared DLLs Sony wrote.
The only way to open the drive is with the pin, which isn't very handy or friendly really.... and can be considered a bit of an antitrust tactic to keep people using Windows.
It is only a month old... So I thought it is a BIOS setting I'm missing. Or a firmware update.
Sending it back means being without the computer for a looooong time! 😞
Sorry, I've just seen your post. So there is no help...
