Hello, I am a new user on this forum.
I have a laptop Vaio VGN-FE41M on Windows Vista Home Premium, but I installed Windows XP Professional.
Now I can't find any compatible drivers for my sound card. (STAC9872AK Intel 82801 GBM ICH7-M)
Can You help me please???
Thanks so much
Ale
Hi Ale and welcome to Club Vaio.
You need to install: -
1. Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio Driver - Hotfix KB
2. Sigmatel CXD9872 High Definition Audio Codec for XP
Download the Preinstalled Drivers Package for the FE31M-Series Vaios from here: -

The FE31 has the same hardware as your FE41M except it was sold with Windows XP. Right-click on the downloaded file FE3_Drivers.ZIP and choose "Extract All". Extract all the files to a new folder C:\FE3_Drivers. I would keep this folder for future use as it will contain ALL the XP drivers for your Vaio. Utilities can also be downloaded from here.
1. Navigate to C:\FE3_Drivers\Drivers\Audio\UAA High Definition Audio Class Driver and double-click on KB835221.EXE to install the UAA High Definition Driver.
2. Navigate to C:\FE3_Drivers\Drivers\Audio and double-click on Setup.EXE to install the Sigmatel CXD9872 High Definition Audio Codec for XP.
Your sound should now be OK.

Very very very thanks.
You are very nice.
There aren't any problem on my Vaio now.
Thanks.
Ale
