Hallo Leute,
Firstly have a look in C:\DRIVERS and look for anything in there resembling AUDIO. Mine is called Audio_Realtek.
Run the enclosed SETUP.EXE file from this folder to reinstall your sound drivers.
Restart your computer and try again. Do you get any sound now from the speakers or headphones?
If you cannot locate the C:\DRIVERS folder, then you must download the Preinstalled Drivers Package from VAIO-Link
Hello JamesMold,
I was on the side Vaio and Sony, and i have all the drivers.
But there is no PCI Device Driver.
I create the lap new, with Win XP Professional SP2.
I have no recover DVD, because it doesn`t help it`s a new System, and no the <profanity removed by moderator> before.
I need only the driver, the recover doesn`t help.
THX kcjones
Help ! Help !.................
as told before under C:/DRIVERS you should get the setup installers provided by sony for the drivers of all you hardware
anyway you can also check the sony update program to see if there's any update for that.
THX for the message,
but it doesn`t work and the driver in the folder Driver/Audio can`t install.
I adduce: "Can`t find Match Realtek HD Audio Inf File !"
and the setup failure.
And i write again " I have all these Drivers" and need another direct help.
By the way, there isno folder C:/Drivers, because it`s all NEW, sorry folks!
THX for messages !

OK well then you need to either get the Preinstalled Drivers from VAIO-Link, this creates the C:\DRIVERS directory when it is run or speak to Sony support who will almost certainly ask for a full system recovery first. Again they are contactable via VAIO-Link.
you can find the drivers in the recovery disk if I'm not wrong (step I've never done)... you do have the recovery disks, don't you?
Have you tried uninstalling the device in Device Manager before installing the driver?
If not do this; uninstall the device, re-boot and press the cancel button if Windows detects the Realtek device. Try installing the driver and if successful re-boot and see whether Windows now sets things up correctly.
Alternatively Realtek drivers can be downloaded from here, but be careful as Sony drivers have often been modified!
 here was a link
