Harddisk making sounds A115s,cpu speed is reducing when im using from battery.

Hi ,
I recently bought A115S Vaio notebook, when ever i use my Notebook using battery the CPU speed is always at 226 MHZ,if i remove the battery and put directly in AC power ,the CPU speed increases to 1.56 GHZ,Why this is happening? is it because of Centrino processer?,one more issue is when ever i put the some cd /DVD in the Drive, its making lots of sound. And when ever i restart my Laptop i can here some tick tick sound from the Hard drive(i think ).Can any one tell me what is the problem. When i contacted sony customer service they are telling that this some sound is expected from laptop..This is my first laptop, and i don't have much experience with the laptops.

Thanks in Advance

Regards,

Shafeek

This CPU speed issue is due to the way you have set up powerpannel.

Using it as a 266Mhz is perfect for Word Processing and so on. Not good for more intense work.

As for the hard disk a light click is normal.

DVDs do make a loud spinning sound, it's usual.

The reason for this is that the centrino processor that is in your computer as Kee-Lo has stated has the ability to increase and decrese the speed of the processor to conserve the battery life.

There should be a control pannel to increase and decrease the speed of the processor.

Again just to backup what Kee-Lo has already stated.
