Graphics Card Upgrade - Please Help

I bought Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow almost a year ago and I haven't been able to play it because the graphics card on my PCV-RX201 isn't up to the job. I've just decided to do something about it and bought a Radeon 9550.

I fitted the new card and fired up the PC but the thing beeped a few times and the monitor didn't turn on (as it normaly does), although the fan on the card spins so there is power to it.

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, in fact I have no idea. There is no Bios upgrade and as far as I know the graphics card should be compatible. What could the problem be and how do I fix it? Is there a different graphics card that will work with my PC and Splinter Cell if the problem can't be fixed? Somebody please help me!

The key here is the beeps. Check your motherboards manufacturer, then head over to their website. Somewhere there were be a list of what the beeps mean, so be sure to note exactly what they are.

Thanks for the reply,

I've had a look on a Bios beep site and I'm pretty sure it was 1 long beep and 3 short beeps which aparently means 'No video card or bad video RAM'.

Could there be a problem with the card rather than my PC or could there be a compatibility issue between the two?!?

I don't think thre should be a compatibiltiy problem. Try putting the old card back in to see if it still works (and the slot itself isn't at fault) and make sure it is properly seated in the slot. Otherwise it may be a faulty card.
