I appreciate that Gracenote can't contain all CD data but I'm getting the "Do you want to register etc" splash screen with almost every CD that I try to rip. I accept the option to register even though I already have but it still doesn't recognise the CD and pick up the tracks. It doesn't happen to all CDs and I can't see anything obvious in Options and it;s starting to annoy me to have to enter track details by hand; does anyone have any thoughts or solutions?
Maybe the info of this CD aren't in the CDDB. But that would be crazy.
Like I said; it's happening to multiple CDs. If it were all of them then I'd be looking for a reinstall etc. . .
Is there anyway I can download the Gracenote software? Or register directly at their website?
Hi sarpal.
I don't use gracenote myself so don't have a full understanding of the software but I found this which might be of help to you. Have a look at Gracenote Metacredit
There is also a possibility that if you have a firewall on your PC it may be blocking attempts to connect to the CDDB, I use NIS and I had to manually configure access for theCDDB before it would work!
Hope this helps!!

Hi, I do have NIS installed so went through the firewall settings and found some programmes that weren't set up. Additionally I downloaded and installed the Gracenote Metacredit. I've just run one of the CDs that didn't pick up and now it does (yah hoo!) So I don't know which fix did it (don't really care) but thanks to both of you for the pointers and fix, much appreciated.
