FE31h No backlight

Hi,

System has been working fine, up until today. Instaled printer drivers, plugged in the USB Cable an the display went veryvery dark. You can still see the display if you tilt the light onto the lcd or look hard. I turned the system off, and tried to get it to boot hoping it was a windows issue, an the same happens during boot. The display is verry dark asif there is no backlight. I did some looking on google and its usually caused by a faulty inverter but I would like some more info from you guys.

yeah its most prob a fauly inverter. if your still in warranty i suggest you use it because it can be quite expensive doing it via a third party. just make sure you backup your data incase they format the laptop

Hi mobymaster,

If you have an external display, try attaching this via the VGA port. If this works then it would certainly point to an inverter or back light problem, as suggested by Dekesh
