Hello,
i've done what you explain,
but some functions doesn't work like
power management, audio, function Buttons...
you're sure that tx3 is the same as tx5?
Vista is bullshit ! ! ! too much ressources for nothing ! !
thanx
You can make your own power management plans so thats not really a big issue.
Do you remember the name of the audio device you have (Sigmatel or Realtek)?
As for the function buttons im not sure what utilities you have to install on XP but there are some people that will.

im not sure what utilities you have to install on XP

Same as for Vista Matt!

Hi Antoine and welcome to Club Vaio.
UGX is the bluetooth. Not sure about the Mass Storage Controller - try right-clicking it in Device Manager and manually searching for the driver in the TX3 Driver Downloads
The Sony USA site is very useful to find drivers etc.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNTX790P&UpdateType=Original
You will find the Bluetooth Driver, the ALPS Touchpad Driver for Vaio and a few other useful things listed there.

THanks a lot !
Small problem : the drivers i founded on the link you gave me tels me "update not adapted to your computer".
;-(
I tryed to change the model on the website to download the correct driver but my computer (VGN-TX5MN) is not listed, probably because it's a model only for the european market. Sure that there is an equivalent model for the us market, but i don't know wich one.
an idea ?

I'm doing the same job on a TX5XN at the moment. The mass storage device driver seemed to be the Memory Stick driver. I installed this successfully much later on after I got other drivers working and went through the Windows Updates. Once it's on, Windows Update will find it and update it again. I used the driver in the TX5XN original drivers package (the Vista set) rather than the one that's available for the TX3.
The TX3 driver package helped me out with the video, wireless and audio drivers.
