All,
I have burned my first DVD+R DL using Nero 6 Suite and my Sony Vaio PCV-RS402 with DRU 700A installed inside (peplacing the standard DVD writer).
My DVD plays well in my PC, but when I insert it into my new Philips 720SA, which has passed the compatibility test by CDRINFO with DVD+R DL burned with SOBY DRU 700A, the player doesn't recognize it.
Is it possible that the problem is that the VY06E version of BIOS doesn't set correctly the BookType Bitsetting ?
Or is it some option I should have set in the burning phase ?
Thanks in advance,
Roberto.
Is this a standard DVD movie?
Yes, Kee-Lo, It's a DVD-PAL 720x576 6Mbps Mpeg-2 coded set of videos with some menus, created with Ulead DVD Workshop 2 (which I used to generate the ISO image) and burned with Nero Suite 6 (I used it to recode with higher compression, in order to fit in 8GB space the whole work).
The DVD works if played by the DRU 700A, or if played by any other PC internal DVD-ROM, but fails in all the home DVD players I have tryed (Philips 720SA, ONKYO, SONY, etc.).
Any Idea ?
Roberto,
I don't think many DVD players can play the 8.5GB disks.

I think one and two are more likely at the moment.
If you know anyone with a Phillips 720SA test it there.
Otherwise I would look at what files Ulead are putting in their ISO...

I think my friend has that drive, getting the dual disks is a pain in the UK though...

Wonder if you can burn a DL data disk...?
Then we know it's the burner...
