Beep when using Fn functions

Hej, I have a VGN-S3XP ...

the problem I would like to solve is as follows:

every time I want to change volume or brightness by using "Fn" and "F3" (or F4, F5, F5, F6, F7, ...) the computer makes a little beep

I do not like that and have been looking for the function to stop this, but I don*t find it ... I have cancelled all normal PC beeps ... and the computer does not make any noise when using functions except for these ones. :slight_frown:

Do you have any ideas??

Hi berlinkid,

welcome to Club Vaio..

The beep sound you are referring to I believe is called pi.wav, on my system this can be found in C > Program Files > Sony > VAIO Event Service. I would suggest just renaming the .wav file extension to something else instead of just deleting pi.wav. Then if you ever wish to restore the beep you can just change the name back.

If you can not find the file in Vaio event service try doing a system search for pi.wav.

Hope this helps.
