Just purchased a VGN-TZ21WN/B which is just what I wanted. But I have a problem:
When the machine is off, I press the AV Mode button to play a CD/DVD etc., and all I get is the five icons on the screen for about five sconds, then they disappear. No amount of key pressing changes anything - According to the InstantON manual the left/right arrows should select the media I wish to access, but this does nothing.
The search facility on this forum always returns empty results, so I have had to resort to posting. I hope someone has a solution!
Cheers!
Hello Blencogo and Ringy
It appears that I have the same problem with VGN-TZ11XN.
When launching AV Mode, computer off, it turns down after 5seconds.
Same thing occurs when launching the VAIO AV mode launcher under Windows, application turns off after 5 seconds.
I was wondering if this did not begin with the last update of the InstantOn software.
I hope to get good news about this problem.
Well...having just done a full System Recovery I now have InstantON working as it should
I am in the process of installing various applications and all is well so far. However, the one thing that is bothering me is that previously, I partioned the hard drive to create a D:Data drive to keep C: drive free of stuff (not an uncommon practice I understand). Would this have screwed-up InstantON and/or Vaio Update?
I can confirm that I have not yet run Vaio Update, so the InstantON app is still the original, not updated version...
ythomas, have you partitioned your hard drive at all?
Ringy2, your answer is fully in line with my problem.
I have recently done a full system recovery (1 week ago) BUT:
- I partioned the hard drive ...
- I ran the Vaio update
I have the same question than you concerning these 2 points.
Is there a way to come back to previous version of Instant On, and is there a known problem with the last version?
Blencogo, do you have any idea or info from the support?
