I have done the update successfully.  Most of the thing is fine but I can't get the ip address from the WIFI access point.  Wonder if anybody got this problem and any solution?

Thanks for your tip!  I have tried to set the wifi without security but still can't obtain ip address normally.  Didn't try static ip address because it is not practical for doing.

Thanks for this manual, but I have some problems with flashing.

I already flashed my Ray accordig to this manual with CyanogenMod 7.1: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Ray:_Full_Update_Guide

But know I want to go back to SE firmware, but the flashtool won't recognize my Ray (but Fastboot does). I can't post you any error messages, because there isn't even one. Flashtool is just waiting at step 4 with this animated picture.

Is somebody facing the same problem?

Do you need to unlock Bootloader first, if yes how?

I'm new to Android so I'm not fully familiar with all the terms.

I don't need to root my phone as such but I would like to update to Android 2.3.4.

I have read a thread in this forum referring to this thread for debranding.

And I thought that you had to root your phone for debranding, that's why.
