Hello,
For 3 days now, my phone, a Cherry Red Sony Ericcson Experia Pro aka MK16i , has a problem with it's loudspeaker.
I was receiving a call, from an unknown number and wanting to decline the call, I just pressed the volume rocker upwards, to mute the call, after that, the sound thru the loudspeaker became very pitched when trying to play music, listening to sounds from my phone & so on .
I don't quite know how to better explain how it sounds now, other than by saying that it's somehow highpitched, it sounds like it struggles to get the sound out.
*Note!* I have removed the battery cover and looked closely at the loudspeaker and the black membrane is not perfortated, it's not clogged with dust, is it intact, somehow, it makes the poor sound that it makes.
My question is, has anyone else encountered this problem, is it a software/Android bug, or is it a hardware issue ?
Thank you in advance.

* My update on the situation :
So, the SEUS reflash of the firmware did not sort the problem and then I decided to look at the speaker with a magnifier glass and found out there was a puncture in the tiny black sponge membrane that was on top of the speaker, my assumption would be that it's there to protect the speaker against dust or water drops and dirty and things as such.
So what i've done is, I removed the black "membrane" that was there, and the sound was back to normal, maybe even louder by a bit than it was before, which is good.
Now, although I understand that I may of voided my waranty on the unit, and that probably over time the speaker will get cluddered with dust and filth , thus rendering it unusable anymore, there is no Sony service centre in my town , Brasov - Romania, so yes, I had to fix the issue,at least for now, for myself.
I do not encourage anyone to do what I've done , it's best to just take it to a Sony service centre IF you have one around your area.
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
That sounds strange. I suggest that you perform a software repair on your phone via Update Service:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
Download and install SUS at your PC, follow the instructions that appear.
Note that a software repair will reinstall the latest software at your phone. If you have Android 2.3 for the moment and don't want the latest version, you can try with a factory reset.
If the problem persist, I suggest that you visit nearest service center since it sounds more like a hardware issue. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:
