I got my Xperia pro yesterday, and when I tried testing the camera I found photos taken with it had huge translucent purple bars across them. This happened with every photo I attempted take. I then exited the camera app and went back in, and when I tried to take another photo it simply displayed "unknown error" and the app closed. It now does this every single time, meaning I cannot take photos at all.
I cannot find any other reports of this issue online, and I have myself tried formatting the SD card; performing a factory reset on the phone itself and reinstalling the software using the PC Companion. None of these have worked and appears to have actually made the issue worse; now it will sometimes refuse the start the app altogether and display "Camera not available".
Is there any known fix for this or have I got a defective camera on this handset?
