The i stands for International and the a for American.The main difference between these two versions of the phone is the frequency at which they receive 3G/H signals, according to the respective frequencies that the networks transmit 3G/H in different regions of the world. Other than that, they are virtually identical handsets.

Its just states the region the phome belongs to..

I mean my is lt15i ( xperia arc ) and one user using the same phone in u.s.a has lt15a Slightly_smiling_Face so its just the letter..and everything else is the same..

But you should wait for some other to reply and confirm this ok..
