Update for Xperia LT26i

My PC companion tells me that I have an update pending for my phone but when I try, PC Companion crashes crashes.

I've tried a number of ways and also runnings as Admin, but the crash always happens.

Any ideas?

Turn firewall and antivirus off and see
or

Boot pc in safe mode with networking on

or

Update your software using SUS

SUS ( Sony Update Service)  ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe
