unresponsive touch screen

Just got my phone back from the Service Center due to battery problems. I waited two months just for them to fix my phone Angry_Face and now a few hours after I got it from the center touch screen wont work :smileyshocked:. tried SU and hard reset. I felt like they made my phone problem worst than it was before and they even forgot to return my battery too! Crying_Face now I dont know if I should return it back to them to fix the band aid solution that they made on  my phone. If there's anyone out there who knows a way to fix or calibrate my X8 xperia so that the touch screen would work... please leave a comment thanks!

2 options for your issue ....

1 - Return it for repair.

2 - Software Repair phone with Update Service, hopefully it is just a software issue. If this works, you can avoid possibly another 2 months of waiting (as stated by your earlier post).

Here's the download link for Update Service, http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/.

Download and install to PC/Laptop, launch it and follow on-screen instruction. Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely.

If Software Repair fails, you have no choice but to return it for repair.

you should go to the centre again , and tell them the problem , or else after a day or two they may not take responsibility ,

since you have already tried updating you should contact them...

wait for some other user to reply ,

Hi, just to further understand your issue, can you tell us more regarding the unresponsive touch screen?

You may want to check that you did not unadvertently cover the proximity sensor.

I cant unock the screen because touch screen dont work. the keys below are still functioning like the back, home and menu button. nope I did not cover the proximity sensor. but I checked the home back back etc... special menu under proximity sensor it says "off"

Move finger back and forth over the proximity sensor, you need to see 'on', 'off' ....

the phone itself does not have a proximity sensor setting.. but under the service test using the secret code " home back back home back home home back" code. under proximity sensor it says OFF and when I cover the proximity it says ON. So I guess proximity sensor works fine and the touch screen doesnt. touch screen would work like once only or if I tap several times on a certain selection.

Crying_Face guess I really need to return it back to the service center because I already tried updating the software twice. 1. using the Update Service and 2. using PC companion.

In that case, I believe you should return it.
