Rooting is possible or Not??

I wish to root my SE Live With Walkman. As I am novice, so I dont risk to unlock bootloader or flashing a new custom ROM. I root my phone as I  want to get rid of Bloatwares. Please tell me whether it is possible to ROOT my SE LWW?screenshot_2012-05-01_2126.png

it has to do with pre-loaded apps and region variants, go with the 160MB one

My OS is Windows XP SP3. I am using flashtool-0.6.9.1-windows.exe for downgrading .62 to .42. Is it necessary to install following softwares before flashing?

  1. Sony Ericsson PC Companion
  2. Sony Ericsson Update Service v2.11.12.5
  3. Sony Ericsson Update Engine v2.11.7.13

just install one of them -> restart your PC after you do so

Thanks W:smileyhappy::smileyhappy:LY. Doing Flash using Flashtool, should I mark USB Debugging or just leave it unmarked?

it shouldn't make a difference I would uncheck it, plus your phone will be on flash mode

Ok. I got it!! And, you post some backup applications which you advice to do before flashing. What those backup apps really do? Are those only built for contacts, sms, calendar, schedule etc. backups or MORE IMPORTANTLY MY WHOLE SYSTEM FILES BACKUPS?

And One more question: When the following pop-up appears, then how I follow the 3rd step? Should I hold my Capacitive Back Button and follow the process? I ask these questions as I saw Xperia X10 has hard physical back button (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg2dYQO59CQ) and mine is the touch one.

only sms, mms, call logs, contacts, apps. what do you mean by your whole system, you are flashing the whole firmware/software.

the back button is only for phones like the X10, Arc, Arc S etc but is the button you hold with PCC or SUS the Volume Down button instead of the Back button.

just clear it, it will show up as soon as you restart your phone, you can connect to a wifi hotspot and update to .62 OTA keeping your phone rooted.
