Hi,
the RAM size on my Xperia P phone reduced to 800mb from 1GB, after the recent ICS update.
Is it common or some error with my device only

no yaar......its not the fact......actually out of 1gb ram only 738 mb was usable for user in ginger bread and rest is used by the android system........whereas in ics the usable ram size has increased to 808 mb which is a matter of joy.......chill:-)
yup. ics is a ram hungry monster. http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/2012/03/30/learn-about-the-technical-differences-between-gingerbr...
ya u are correct that ics is ram hungry..........but here the query was ram size!!!
generally gb was requiring around 320mb of ram for general operations but for the same ics is requiring 380mb to 400mb:smileyplain:
i just check my RAM.
used=322
free=479
yes ryan,
i you add 322+479=801,
and you can also see many system applications running on the 322 mb portion of the ram.
So, my question was where is this 199mb RAM gone.
But as fanatic said, user available RAM is around 808 mb.
Still why the system operations are running and using RAM above the system alloted one(around 192mb)?
