Purple spot in camera images and videos

There is a purple spot in center of the camera screen...   When ever i took a photo or video there this purple spot. Is this because of the hardware or software? i updated my sony xperia u to android 2.3.7 before that i didnt see the purple spot in camera screen... will there be an update fix for this issue or i should go to service center? Anyway i cant wait 7 days for replacment

First try this though

Backup everything as it will erase all data on phone (sms, contacts,apps)

Update/Repair your phone via PCC or SUS

PCC (PC COMPANION) – Repair your software with this .First do the setup without connecting your mobile to pc.(only connect when you are asked to).

Do it as follow >> PCC > SUPPORT ZONE> SOFTWARE UPDATE> REPAIR SOFTWARE (written with blue)

SUS ( Sony Update Service)  ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

One user over here ( read it completely ) reported it as hardware..

If software repair didn't help then visit Sony center immediately

i have updated the software again and still i see the purple spot guess i have to give it to sony service centre. thanks
