Problems with syncing calendar

I just got my Arc S and I seem to be having problems with synchronizing my google calendar in gmail with the standard calendar app on my arc s. I tried altering the agenda that is viewed in the app, but it only gives the option to view the phone's agenda. Can someone help me with this problem?

are you trying to modify events that were posted by someone else (facebook)? or events that you created?

I was hoping that events added by me in my gmail account would appear in the app on my phone. Preferably synchronized almost instantly

they should

go to settings -> accounts & sync -> make sure both are selected

background data traffic and activate auto-sync, as well as having a data plan.

also tap on google -> make sure calendar it's selected

I just did it. However, I can't see the option calendar when I tap on google in this list. Have you got any idea how  this is possible?

when you go to settings -> accounts & sync -> google

you should be able to see

Sync Docs

Sync Picasa Web Albums

Sync Contacts

Sync Gmail

Sync Calendar

Can you take a screenshot (just black out your email address)

I'm there, but I only see Picasa Web albums, Contacts and Gmail. No docs or calendar

go to your Calendar app -> press MENU -> my calendars and make sure its visible

I see two phone calendars there and made them both visible. I still can't see the calendar option under accounts & sync though

remove your google account and then re-add it see if that helps
