'No sound' problem

I was using Bluetooth to pair Xperia 8 with a speaker. I dont know if that caused it, but I cant get the sound back on the phone's normal speaker. Through Bluetooth, the sound is fine. I have switched off the settings for Bluetooth countless times, unpaired it with the speaker. Turned off the phone, and turned it on again. Took out the battery. I even typed this phone configuration setting to get to the speaker but it doesnt seem to apply to X8. I have checked the updates and that is fine too. Checked out the posts from different places, none seem to solve my problem.

I cant really get my back or home button switch to work. The button on left springs up a menu for changing wall paper and rearranging applications. The button on the right just throws up the sliding menu window for selecting the different applications.

I've tried several times before and now again with the keypad approach. On pressing the las *, it just disappeared off the dial pad. As for the service window - I have looked and it doesnt seem to include X8. In any case, I cant get the windows as indicated by your link.

after you press the last * just wait, don't press anything

Yes I just simply entered the asterix and the screen clears itself automatically.

Then I only get a screen with phone info, battery and usage stats. Now I ve even lost service because I must have accidentally changed the service type - which should be what if I am on Optus Sydney.
