MHL support

Hi! I've a Xperia Mini (ST15i) and  I'm satisfied with it, because it's a good phone when considered the hardware and your cost. But, with ICS update and a possibility of using USB OTG, made me want to enjoy of HDMI technology, which initially is not possible, given the absence of the door micro HDMI. However, I saw a announcement of an adapter that converts the micro USB to HDMI (link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-MHL-to-HDMI-Cable-Kable-Adapter-For-Galaxy-S2-HTC-7-1-Surround-Sou...).

So, I would like know if the ST15i have MHL technology supports, even because the menu of tests (*#*#7378423#*#*) show option "HDMI test".

Sorry for my bad English.

Certain of attention, thanks since now.

MHL is not mentioned in the white paper and I have not heard about it for this phone model before so I don't think it's supported unfortunately.

The service menu is a generic one used for several phone models so it's quite common that it includes service tests for unsupported features.

What do you think about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

I purchased a 3d-party MHL cable to test it on my Xperia Mini Pro, which also shows the HDMI test menu.

It does not work.

It's not an ultimate test, as I know there are several different "fashions" ov MHL cables, but that's it.

Strange thing is that there are service menu items for several features... but features NOT present on my phone result in "not implemented" or  "not available" error in the service menu, while test for HDMI results in "something happening" in the phone.

Hence... who knows? 🙂

Anyway, OTG works fine on my mini pro without upgrading anything, I just bought the proper HW adapter for 2 euros. Slightly_smiling_Face It must have a rectangular (rathere than trapezoidal) mini-USB connector on a side and an USB-host on the other.

I bought the product of the link above and tested in my Xperia Mini. Really, the function is not present in the cellphone. Anyway, thanks for the responses.
